How to get a price
A strip quotation in three steps
Strip, foil and slit coils on one quotation, with the required documentation checked before we quote.
Send us
- Grade and temper or tensile strength (for example 1.4310 C1300), the finish, and your drawing or specification
- Thickness and width with the tolerance class, the edge, and the coil build: inner diameter, maximum outside diameter or coil weight
- Quantity per delivery and per year, the delivery place and date, and the certificates you need
Good to know
- Slit from available coil or made to orderStrip slit from available coil typically ships in two to three weeks. Strip rolled to a tensile class or a special size is made to order and takes longer. We confirm the date in our offer.
- CertificatesWe confirm EN 10204 3.1 certificate availability and the documented mechanical properties for the quoted temper and lot. Tell us before we quote if you require EN 10204 3.2 or extra tests; we check feasibility and confirm the scope, cost and lead time.

Frequently asked questions
What is precision strip?
Cold-rolled stainless strip, usually below 600 mm wide, supplied to tight thickness and width tolerances and to a set temper, finish, edge and coil build. It is the starting material for springs, stampings, heat exchangers, bellows and welded tube.
Which thicknesses and widths can you supply?
From 0.05 mm foil to about 3 mm for narrow strip, and slit coils up to 8 mm. Widths start at a few millimetres; the narrowest possible width depends on the thickness. Send us the size and we confirm it in our offer.
Which tempers are available for 1.4310 spring strip?
The EN 10151 tensile strength classes C850 (850–1,000 MPa), C1000, C1150, C1300, C1500, C1700 and C1900 (1,900–2,200 MPa). The highest class possible depends on the thickness. Strip can also be rolled to your own tensile range or supplied annealed.
What is the difference between normal and precision tolerance?
EN ISO 9445-1 has two tolerance classes for narrow strip. For 0.30 mm strip below 125 mm wide, the thickness tolerance is ±0.020 mm in the normal class and ±0.010 mm in the precision class. The tolerance finder on this page shows both for your size; name the class in your enquiry.
How do I work out the length of strip in a coil?
Divide the coil weight by the weight per metre, which is thickness × width × density ÷ 1,000 (sizes in mm, density in kg/dm³: 7.9 for 1.4310 and 304, 8.0 for 316L, 7.7 for the ferritic grades). A 100 kg coil of 0.30 × 20 mm 1.4310 holds about 2,110 m. The calculator on this page also gives the coil outside diameter.
What edge will the strip have?
Slitting gives a slit edge. Deburred or rounded edges are available on request for many sizes; tell us the burr limit or the edge profile you need and we confirm it in our offer.
Can you slit our own coils?
Yes. Send us the coil data (grade, thickness, width, weight and inner diameter) and the strip widths you need. We arrange slitting, packing and transport and quote it as one job.
Which coil sizes can you deliver?
Inner diameters from about 200 to 610 mm, with the outside diameter and coil weight to suit your decoiler, from small coils of a few kilograms upwards. Tell us the limits of your line.
Which certificates do you supply?
We confirm the manufacturer’s EN 10204 3.1 document, chemical analysis, relevant mechanical properties and traceability for the quoted lot. For EN 10204 3.2, we check the material, manufacturer and inspection route before quoting. A separate inspection report is not automatically a 3.2 certificate.
How long does delivery take?
Strip slit from available coil typically ships in two to three weeks. Strip rolled to a tensile class or a special size is made to order and usually takes two to four months. We confirm the date in our offer; precision strip can travel with coils, sheets and plates from Beveren (Port of Antwerp).
